The concert is part of the year-long celebration of JVP’s Silver Anniversary and aims to raise funds for Batch 26 (2005-2006).

For 25 years now, the JVP has been involved in nation-building by servicing various areas all over the country from remote locations in Cotabato, Masbate and Mindoro to cities like Naga, Zamboanga and Davao. JVP recruits, trains, forms and sends young men and women volunteers to worK in under-resourced schools, non-government organizations and parishes for a period of at least one year. Volunteers are sent either to teach in schools from elementary to college level, work in parishes with youth groups, interact and aid tribal groups, or organize and assist fisher folk, farmers, and communities in developing livelihood programs and self-sustaining projects.
It is the spirit of volunteerism that has inspired and guided the JVP volunteers through their year of service and after their term. Former volunteers take the JVP experience even to their current careers be it in the academe, government work, medicine, law, social development and advocacy, corporate business and training, archaeology and cultural preservation, media and entertainment.

As JVP celebrates its 25th Anniversary, it pays tribute to those who have volunteered and strived to live out the JVP core values of service, spirituality, solidarity, and simplicity to be agents of change. It is also a time to thank all the individuals and institutions who have supported and made JVP’s work possible through the years. It is in this joyful spirit that JVP wishes to celebrate its 25th anniversary with the youth and raise funds for the JVP story to continue.
