QUALIFICATIONS FOR FULL-TIME VOLUNTEER
A Jesuit volunteer must be:
- 18 to 35 years old, at the time of application
- Single
- College graduate or graduating, at the latest, in April 2006
- In good physical health and has no physical impediments to work as a volunteer
- Psychologically balanced and emotionally mature
- Willing to go wherever assigned for at least one year
Candidates should ideally be motivated to live their Christian faith and are aligned with the JVP core values of service, social justice, solidarity, simplicity and spirituality. Involvement and participation in school, parish and community activities / issues are essential. A candidate’s intermediate knowledge, skills and training are valued. Key personal qualities such as effective communication skills, psycho – emotional balance and maturity are also considered.
The Application Forms are available year round at the website or from the JVP Local Chapter officers in Cagayan de Oro, Davao, Naga, Manila and Zamboanga. A roving Screening Committee for Volunteers conducts the interviews and deliberations in the Local Chapters beginning mid - December through January. Results are sent out in the first week of February.
The term of service begins with the first day of the Pre - Orientation Seminar in early May at the Local Chapters and ends on the last day of the Yearend Seminar in early April of the following year.
