Volunteer Procedure
To the Full–time Volunteer Service Program (VSP)
Welcome to the Online Application Procedure to the Volunteer Service Program of the Jesuit Volunteers Philippines . These forms and other requirements are needed for your assessment as a Jesuit Volunteer. Kindly accomplish the forms thoroughly and submit these with the complete requirements in the list. Please follow the procedure below and contact the Program Officer for Volunteer Service (POVS) through jvp.applications@yahoo.com for any application queries or more details about the program.
Basic Qualities:
- 18 to 35 years old, at the time of acceptance to the program
- Single
- College graduate or graduating, at the latest, in April 2008
- In good physical health and has no physical impediments to work as a volunteer
- Psychologically balanced and emotionally mature
- Willing to go wherever assigned for at least one year
Preferred Qualities:
- Strong involvement and leadership in community, parish, school activities and issues
- Very open to learning and effective in sharing skills and training
- Proficient in spoken and written English and Filipino
- Compassionate to the poor and marginalized
THE ONLINE APPLICATION PROCEDURE
The applicant

Good day! I am interested to be a Jesuit Volunteer and intend to download the Online Application Kit. Kindly inform me through email or phone on application procedure updates and local chapter recruitment activities.

- Downloads the file: JVP Online Application Kit, using Microsoft Word (MS WORD).
- Accomplishes the Application Form electronically or prints it on white short bond paper (8.5” x 11”) and completes the forms by hand.
- Prints and completes the list of other requirements (i.e., reference and medical forms, transcript of records, etc)
- Ensures all application requirements are available and encloses it all in a short brown envelope, with the sender’s name, mobile number and email address.
- Sends via conventional mail (post office), courier (i.e JRS, LBC, 2GO, etc) or personal delivery to the Local Chapters in Cagayan de Oro (CDO), Davao (DVO), Naga (NGA), Manila (MLA) and Zamboanga (ZAM) or the JVP National Office within 26 – 30 November 2007 .

- The applicant ensures availability on the assessment interview date.
- The applicant pays a processing fee of Php 50.00 on the assessment interview date or upon personal submission of application forms to the Local Chapter Representative or the National Office.
Here are important dates to note:
- July –November 2007 Application forms available
- 30 November 2007 Submission of application forms and requirements
- December 2007 - January 2008 Interviews in the Local Chapters (CDO, DVO, MLA, NGA, ZAM)
- February 2008 Screening results out and deadline for confirmation of volunteers
- 1 st – 2 nd week of March 2008 Psychological exam
- 1 st weekend of May 2008 Pre – orientation seminar
- Mid May 2008 Orientation seminar
- Last week of May 2008 Volunteer goes to area of assignment
The Program Officer for Volunteer Service (POVS)
- Sends an email to the applicant within five (5) working days, to acknowledge receipt of the Application Kit.
- Informs the applicant on assessment dates, venue and other key steps in application.
- Meets the applicant on the scheduled assessment interview date.
- Conducts the assessment interview with the Screening Committee for Volunteers (SCV).
- Informs the applicant of the screening results via electronic and conventional mail.
