Ces, JVP Batch 35, is coordinator for a campaign to let more people know of the grossly flawed APECO (Aurora Pacific Economic Zone and Freeport) in Casiguran, Aurora. The government has spent billions for this, but it is not bringing genuine, pro-people development: fertile agricultural land have been converted into a non-operational airstrip, buildings and infrastructure rotting away, essentially a waste of taxpayer’s money.
Ces works with farmers, fisher folk and an Agta community, the Indigenous Peoples in Aurora further displaced by APECO. With a team, Ces helps advance their cause: for the legislators to seriously assess, and stop APECO now.
JVP sends volunteer advocates like Ces to help communities like Casiguran have a voice, be heard and step out of the margins.
