Jesuit Volunteers walk with communities towards stable enterprises.

John of JVP Batch 35 is a community organizer for several communities of women weavers in Basey, Samar. He arranges capacity-building seminars, help develop their weave products, coordinate their daily operations and build relationships with buyers. Through mentoring, John is training the mothers to be able to run the enterprise independently.

Like John, JVPs have been sent as volunteer community organizers across the country to assist women and rural folk in establishing livelihoods. JVP believes in investing in community capacities– whether in helping them set up better financial systems in their cooperatives, training fundraising groups, or coordinating community programs.
