Good news in ED and RDO!

Hello fellow JVPs!

I bring good news, along with a grateful heart for God’s blessings for JVP!

I am very  pleased to announce the appointment of the following  JVP alumni to the National Office:

1. MR.  BLAS DESCALLAR, as Executive Director  (ED) effective Nov 26, 2018.

Blas belongs to Batch 16, assigned to Erda-Tech in Manila. He is a graduate of  BA in International Studies from Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro, studied Maters in Family Life and Child Development from the University of the Philippines, and a Masters degree in Pastoral Studies from Loyola University in New Orleans. He has extensive experience working in several institutions involved in pastoral care, indigenous peoples, and religious instruction, here and in the US, in Cambodia and Bangladesh. He was the first JVP for Asia.  He also  once worked as Project Officer for Continuing Service (POCS, 1999-2001) of JVP under then ED,  Oman Jiao.

2. MS. JOHANNE “Jo” ARCEO,  as Resource Development Officer (RDO) effective Nov 12, 2018.

Johanne was part of JVP Batch 33, and served as Assistant Program Officer for Livelihood in Xavier University’s Lumbia Resettlement project. She has worked on various programs for the Philippine Toy Library, and Philippine Business for Education. She was also the Business Development Manager for Solar Philippines. Prior to joining JVP,  Johanne was a Campus Minister and formator of the Ateneo de Manila campus ministry, and continues to be active in assisting in prayer groups and formation with members of the Ateneo Christian Life Community (ACLC) and Ateneo Student Catholic Action (AtSCA). She graduated with a degree in Business Management from the Ateneo de Manila University. Johanne hails from Baguio City.

I am personally very excited with Blas and Johanne joining Dickel, Aira, Angie, and Mae, at the National Office, as this strengthens our capability to meet current challenges, and continue the JVP journey as we enter our 40th year. Finally, our national office team is complete!  Come visit, and get to know them too!

Let us also thank Benjie Barretto, who has so generously given his time and talent, and has volunteered to be the ED-OIC pro bono while fulfilling his full time government job and teaching at ADMU. He will be working with Blas till end of the year to ensure a smooth turnover.

Let us welcome Blas and Johanne, and show our support for them.   Let us continue to pray for each other, and for JVP.

Cheers!
Wena
